The students of Milbank Middle School raised over $2,000 for gifts for the local Angel Tree project this year through a penny war competition sponsored by the middle school student council.
Each homeroom class made up its own team. The goal was to raise $1,700 for the cause, but with the added contributions, gifts were provided for over 20 children. “Their generosity was absolutely amazing,” stated school counselor Heidi Wellnitz. “We are so proud of all the kids who took time to help make other kids Christmas a little better.”
