Kindergarten through fifth grade students at Koch School Elementary hosted their annual Christmas sing-a-long on December 20. Music teacher, Dave Boerger, directed.

Each grade level presented a poem and musical selections. The program started with the kindergarteners and first-graders singing Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and Away in a Manger. The kindergarten students sang Jingle Bells and the first- graders sang Santa Claus is Coming to Town, Winter Wonderland, 10 Little Angels, and Have a Holly Jolly Christmas. Other songs featured included: Suzy Snowflake, Jolly Old St. Nicholas, Up on a Housetop, and We Wish You a Merry Christmas.

The second through fifth grade students started by singing Joy To The World. The second-graders sang There Was a Little Baby and Away in a Manger. They also recited their poem. Third-graders, adorned with reindeer antlers, paws and tails, presented Reindeer Love To Boogie, Reindeer Hokey Pokey, and a poem. Fourth-graders sang Still Still Still and Go Tell it on the Mountain with their class poem.

The fifth-graders played musical instruments and added solo accompaniments during the program. The class also sang Jingle Bell Jukebox and new arrangements by Mr. Boerger of Jingle Bell Rock and Rockin Around the Christmas Tree. The fifth grade percussion students performed Disco Deck the Halls, before wrapping up the program with group selections of Silver Bells, Nuttin’ for Christmas, Rusty Chevrolet, and We Wish You a Merry Christmas.
