St. Lawrence Catholic School in Milbank collected 840 pairs of socks during Socks for the Soul. The drive gathered socks from December 4-18 in an effort to keep feet warm in Grant County this winter. The hosiery was donated to the Interlakes Community Action Partnership.

“Socks are the number one most needed clothing item nationwide,” says Susie Wendlend, adviser for the student council. “The kids did an awesome job collecting so many socks.” The sixth grade class collected the most and won the classroom contest. They will be rewarded with an extra recess and a snack from the student council store.

The drive was facilitated by the St. Lawrence Student Council. Representing the council were: (l. to r.) Ivy Lewno, Cassidy Schell, Jayden Johnson, Olivia Wendland, and Mia Van Lith.
