Milbank Wrestlers Battle for Wins

The Milbank Bulldog wrestling team hosted Sisseton in a dual match January 4, and were defeated 39-33. Eli Fischer, Michael Karges, Alec Bien, Brodie Holtquist, Isaac Fischer, and Tanner Kettwig secured wins for the Dawgs. The match was tied 33-33 with the final 285 pound match as the deciding factor. Angel Chen was pinned by Kaeden Metz to give Sisseton the win.

Milbank also hosted the Big Stone Therapies Border Battle dual tournament on January 6. The Bulldogs went 2-2. Milbank downed Sioux Falls Washington 60-16 and Border West 52-21, but dropped to Marshall, Minnesota, 68-9 and Dawson-Boyd/LQPV/Montevideo United, 42-31. Milbank now sits with a 3-6 dual record for the season.

In junior varsity action on January 6, Noah Garcia, Brayden Christensen, Barrett Schneck, Brady Femling, and Elijah Fraasch were 2-0. Layton Rafferty was 2-1. Trystan Fischer and Logan Meyer were 0-2 and Nick Trevett was 0-3.

The Bulldogs travel to Redfield on Thursday, January 11, and to Harrisburg on Saturday, January 13.
