Milbank Wrestlers Place at Harrisburg Invitational

Six of the eight wrestlers from Milbank who competed in the Harrisburg Invitational secured a top six finish in their respective weight classes on Saturday, January 13. Leading the way for the Bulldogs, was Eli Fischer with a first place finish. Isaac Fischer and Tanner Kettwig each earned a third place finish, and Toby Schneck took fourth place. Also placing in the tournament for the Dawgs were Alec Bien at fifth place and JD Lusk at sixth.

Milbank finished eighth in the team standings with 89.5 points. Harrisburg won the meet with 266. Beresford/Alcester-Hudson was second with 167, and Aberdeen Central took third with 166.

Other team totals were Sioux Falls Roosevelt, 144.5; Yankton, 131.5; Madison, 130.5; Sioux Falls O’Gorman, 114; Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn, 66; Dakota Valley, 53.5; Tea Area, 41; Sioux Falls Washington, 36; and Fulda/MCC, 21.5.

Milbank travels to Chamberlain Friday, January 19, for a quadrangular. The Bulldogs also compete in the Chamberlain Invitational tournament on Saturday, January 20.

120 – Kaden Krause defeated Ethan Kruger, Madison 7-2; lost by fall to Danny Blankenship, Fulda/MCC, 5:12; lost 6-4 in sudden victory to Blessing Taniah, SF Washington.
132 – JD Lusk lost by fall to Jacob Hanssen, Harrisburg, 5:08; won by fall/ Logan Beadle, Aberdeen Central, 2:58; defeated Josh Brunz, SF O’Gorman 9-8; fell by 10-0 major decision to Payton Borah, Beresford; lost by 13-3 major decision to Max Meyers, Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn. Sixth place finish.
138 – Breyden Miller lost by fall to Carlos Ruffo, Yankton, 1:40; defeated Kamren McCubbin, SF Washington 3-0; lost by fall to Kiet Gilberts, Tea Area, :30.
152 – Toby Schneck lost by fall to Tanner Swab, SF Roosevelt, 1:53; won by fall/ Tynan Fogarty, SF O’Gorman, 1:19; won by 15-3 major decision/Cole Ebert; fell 4-0 to Wyatt Knudson, Beresford. Fourth place finish.
