Lady Bulldogs Punch Ticket to State Gymnastics Meet

The Lady Bulldogs gymnastics team punched their ticket to the State Class A gymnastics meet with a third place finish at the Region 1A meet in Milbank on February 1. The top three teams from each region advance to State.

Milbank scored a team total of 127.60. Madison was crowned the region champion with a 142.45. Deuel was the runner-up with a 141.325.Rounding out the team scores were West Central, 123.50; Sisseton, 120.05; Britton-Hecla, 119.70; Montrose, 33.95; Warner, 29.225.

The meet also doubled as the Northeast Conference meet. Milbank was named the runner-up, behind Deuel. Sisseton finished third and Britton-Hecla,

Mackenzie Weinkauf placed 12th on vault and tied for eighth on the floor exercise. Dani Yamaura earned a 13th place finish on the balance beam while Maddie Gustafson placed 14th on the floor exercise and tied for 14th on vault. Also placing for Milbank were Tori Hooth, 13th on vault, and Greta Snaza, 15th on floor.

Results from the Region 1A meet. Scores are the same for both the region and NEC meet, with the gymnasts’ place in the NEC in parenthesis.
