MMS Musicians Perform Mid-Winter Concert

The Milbank Middle School presented a Mid-Winter Concert Monday, February 5, at the high school theater.
The sixth grade choir kicked off the show with three numbers including “Everyone Needs a Hero”, “Part of Your World” from the Little Mermaid, and “Lift Every Voice and Sing.” Rap soloists in the opening song were Caleb Pillatzki, Jackson Hausauer, Isaac Graham and Jaxson Wildung. Additional soloists were Shaylee Schuchard, Bridget Korstjens, Harmonie Farley and Sophia Whitlow.
The seventh grade choir performed “Zephyr”, “I Was Here”, and “Deep in the Meadow (Lullaby)” from The Hunger Games movie.
The eighth grade choir closed out the singing portion with “Let the River Run”, “Stand By Me”, and “What a Mornin!”. Soloists were Jacquie Wold, Will Karels, Ryker Trevett, and Nicholas Batchelor. Chaz Reinhardt was a vocal percussion soloist in “Stand By Me.”
All three bands shared two numbers. The sixth grade band played “Hot Fudge Sundae” with guest director Nyssa Duffield, student teacher from Northern State University, and “We Will Rock You.”
The seventh grade band played “Bad Romance” and “Music From Grease”, and the eighth grade band performed “Jungle Dance” and “Rock and Roll is Here to Stay.”
