Students of the Milbank DARE Program were recognized during the MHS girls basketball game February 8, at the Milbank Armory.
Students were encouraged to make the DARE pledge of being drug-free by signing the DARE banner in the lobby of the school.
All graduates of the DARE Program gathered and sang the Star Spangled Banner while the Watertown Police Department Honor Guard presented the colors at mid-court. The students were later treated to ice cream.
The DARE Program is conducted each year for fifth grade students at Koch and St. Lawrence schools. The program is led by Milbank Police Chief Boyd VanVooren.
