Five Bulldog grapplers punched their ticket to the state Class A wrestling tournament slated for Friday and Saturday, February 23 and 24, at the Denny Sanford Premier Center in Sioux Falls. Representing Milbank are Eli Fischer, Barrett Schneck, Kaden Krause, Alec Bien, and Tanner Kettwig. “I am happy and excited for the five guys that qualified,” Bulldog Head Coach Jeremy Tostenson. “They have earned it.”  Fischer is a 106-pound sophomore and takes a 29-3 record into the tournament. He will face eighth-grader Oakley Blakeman (42-10) of Belle Fourche in the opening round.

Barrett Schneck is the first seventh-grader in MHS school history to qualify for the state tournament. He will wrestle at the 113-pound weight class with a 17-13 record. He battles junior Max Donovan (41-4) of Chamberlain in the first round.

Eighth-grader Kaden Krause competes at 120 pounds. He takes a 22-17 record into the state meet and faces junior Collin Powell (34-3) of Chamberlain to start the tournament. Junior Alec Bien represents the Dawgs at 160 pounds. He holds a 26-12 record and faces sophomore Wyatt Jungclaus (36-21) of Rapid City Central in the opening round.
Senior Tanner Kettwig competes at 220 pounds. He takes a 21-12 record into the tournament and matches up with senior Zach Siemonsma (15-5) of Huron.
