James A. Radtke, age 45, of West Fargo, ND, formerly of Milbank, died Sunday, July 15, 2018, as a result of a vehicle accident near Hankinson, ND.

Services will be held at Calvary United Methodist Church, Fargo, ND on July 23, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. Visitation will be at West Funeral Home& Life Tribute Center, West Fargo, from 5:00 p.m. – 7 p.m. Sunday, July 22, 2018, with a Prayer Service at 7 p.m.

A graveside service and burial will take place Monday, July 23, 2018 at the Milbank City Cemetery, Milbank, SD at 3:30 p.m. A gathering will follow the interment at Central Untied Methodist Church in Milbank.

James Allen Radtke was born May 8, 1973 in Sioux Falls, SD to Allen and MaryLou (Foss) Radtke. He attended Milbank Public Schools and graduated from Milbank High School in 1991. He continued his education at South Dakota State University and graduated in 1995 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Wildlife and Fisheries Sciences.

After college, he moved to Sioux Falls, SD before transferring with his job, and making his home in Fargo, ND. Here, he met Lisa Hokstad, and they married on April 15, 2000 at Calvary United Methodist Church.

In October 2002, Connor James was welcomed to the family, and in December 2004, Ashlee LeAnne and Ethan Michael completed their family. He was a loving and proud father and was devoted to his wife and children.

James was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying all forms of hunting, and fishing activities. True to his childhood, growing up on the farm, he also had a love for gardening, generously sharing the produce of that hard work with everyone around him. He most enjoyed spending time with his children, sharing his passion for these activities, and carefully teaching them these skills.

James worked for Diebold, Inc, where he enjoyed meeting and interacting with his clients, coworkers, and banking associates. His integrity and strong work ethic were apparent to all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Lisa; and children: Connor, Ethan, and Ashlee of West Fargo, ND; his Aunts and Uncles: Judy Radtke , Milbank, SD; Dale and Jeanne Foss, Aberdeen, SD; Carolyn and Richard Kvidera, Ortonville, MN; Father and Mother in law, Robert and Sharon Hokstad, Fargo, ND; Brother in law, David (Shannon) Hokstad, Fargo, ND; and Sister in law, Karen (Chris) Johnson, Strasburg, CO; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Allen and Mary Lou; and grandparents: Alvin “Swede” and Ione Foss, and Albert R. Sr. and Minnie S (Zick) Radtke.
