The Bulldog Golf team traveled to the Madison Invitational on Tuesday, September 4, and to Groton on Thursday, September 6.
Coach Mark Keeton said, “Madison played tough despite the rainy wet conditions. It’s tough to keep everything dry which can lead to wet grips, your feet or hands slipping, etc. Plus, we were only able to post three scores due to injuries. I’m proud of the boys for hanging in there.”
Thursday turned out to be a brighter day for the Bulldog team. They took sixth at Groton. Senior Connor VanVooren posted a score of 86. Logan Meyer tallied a 90, Eli Fischer a 94, and Jake Trevett hit a 94. Keeton said, “I thought that the team played very well, and we came away with a good idea of what it will take to qualify for the state tournament.”
As 2018 season starts to wind down this month, Keeton noted, “We still need to tighten up our chipping and putting. With only a few meets left, this will be a focus at practice.”
