The Milbank Cross Country teams traveled to Lennox on Friday, September 28, for the Lennox Invitational. Both Bulldog teams placed high.
The Lady Bulldog runners brought home second place and the boys’ team took fourth. Ten schools from the area competed: Dell Rapids, Webster, West Central, Elk-Point Jefferson, Sioux Falls Christian, Beresford, Vermillion, Lennox, Tea, and Milbank.

Coach Eric Townsend said, “The Lennox Invite was the best meet of the season for both varsity teams. Many of the top teams in Class A were at the meet.”

Five MHS runners landed in the top 20. Nick Batchelor finished third and Zippy Bock came in 14th for the boys. The average time for the Milbank males was 18:12:70. For the girls, Danica Schulte ended in fifth place, Maurina Street in seventh, and Amaya Street came in at 16th. The average time for the Lady Bulldogs was 21:04:56 – just shy of the average time of 20:50:14 posted by the first place team Sioux Falls Christian.

The Bulldog Cross Country teams compete this week at the Northeast Conference Meet in Webster on Thursday October 4. The meet starts at 2 p.m.
