The Milbank girls volleyball team went on the road to Tiospa Zina to play the final game of their regular season on October 23. The Lady Bulldogs team defeated the Wambdi in three sets at: 25-11, 25-23, and 25-16.

MHS Coach Nancy Hoeke said, “We were able to get the job done in three sets. In the second set, we had a let down and made too many mistakes, and started getting tense when we fell behind 16-19. But that’s part of the game, and we continuously work on playing with confidence.”

The girls wrapped up the night with 93 percent serving, including 10 aces! Makayla Johnson made three, Tracy Pillatzki and Jaden Hoeke each contributed two. Amy Nelson, Katie Wollschlager, and Jaecy Engebretson added one apiece.

Johnson also led in attacks; she had 13 kills. Engebretson followed with seven, Hoeke with six, Pillatzki with four, and Anna Mathews added three.

Amy Nelson was the leader in assists. She was credited with 13. Engebretson jumped in with eight. Wollschlager hit the lead with 11 digs. Engebretson and Hoeke each contributed six. Johnson and Pillatzki made one solo block each.

The Lady Bulldogs head to Region play on Tuesday, October 30. They host Webster at home. If they win, they play in Groton on Thursday, November 1.
