Isabelle Fern (Weller) Folkens was born on January 18, 1925, in Fulton, Missouri, to William and Florence (Reynolds) Weller. When Isabelle was 11 years old, the family moved from Missouri to the Clinton area. They packed up a truck and a trailer and camped on the side of the road until they reached their destination. Isabelle attended school in Clinton until she finished eighth grade.
On August 11, 1941, Isabelle was united in marriage to Edwin Folkens and together, they had two children: Diane and Dennis. Isabelle helped her husband on the farm and was a hard worker. Eddie passed away in 1971. On July 22, 1972, Isabelle married Raymond Folkens. She continued to help her husband work on the farm until they retired in 1984 and moved into a home in Clinton.
She liked to volunteer at the nursing home, loved to read, put together jigsaw puzzles, gardening, tending to her flower beds, and enjoyed fishing. She adored her family members and loved spending time with them, especially her grandchildren and her great-grandchild.
Isabelle is survived by her daughter, Diane Matson of Aurora, CO; three grandchildren: Kelly (Michael) Webster, Jay (Scott) Matson, and Bradley Folkens; one great-grandchild, Wyatt; sisters: Myrtle Peschong, Mary Veflin, Gladys Cairns, and Martha Schake; and many nieces and nephews.
