Milbank Boys Basketball Season Begins With Kickoff Classic

Bulldog basketball bounces back onto their home court to start the season with a double header showcasing both boys and girls teams against Waubay-Summit on Saturday, December 8.

According to head coach Logan Diede, the varsity roster is made up of 11 players. The four senior players are Jacob Sandvig, Jordan Riley, Jake Fox and Kacen Huber. Coach Diede is assisted by Ryan Scoular and Jade Miller.

Diede said, “Our captains, as of now, are Jordan Riley, Jake Sandvig, and Max McCulloch. Also, filling leadership positions are Jake Fox, Mason Riley, Braden Brandriet, and Will Cummins.”

Diede said, “Our biggest challenge early on will be our youth and inexperience at the varsity level….and going against quality competition all year long. We have a very tough schedule, so it will be fun to see our team compete and grow all year long.”

Diede also said, “We look to evolve as a group with toughness and togetherness from top to bottom. We started making good strides with that last season, so we want to continue to build on that, while competing on every possession of every game.”

The Bulldogs’ Kickoff Classic begins with the girls’ JV team game at 4 p.m. The boys JV follows at 5:15 p.m, girls’ varsity at 6:30 p.m. and boys’ varsity at 8:00 p.m.
