Chelsie (Leuthardt) Grundhauser, age 30, of North Saint Paul, MN, formerly of Graceville, MN, passed away on Friday, December 7, 2018, at St. John’s Hospital in Maplewood, MN.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 15, 2018, at 12:00 PM at the Graceville High School Gymnasium. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 14, 2018, from 7 to 9 PM at the school and will continue from 10 AM to 12 PM on Saturday.

Chelsie Marie (Leuthardt) Grundhauser was born September 19, 1988, to Valerie (Nilson) Carlson-Seifert and Michael Leuthardt at Lake Region Hospital in Fergus Falls, MN. She was baptized at Elim Lutheran Church in Clinton, MN, and confirmed at the Osakis Lutheran Church in Osakis, MN. She was a 2007 graduate of Osakis High School in Osakis, MN, where she participated in various sporting activities and excelled in drama.

She attended Minnesota State University Moorhead where she graduated in 2011 with a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice. Interested in many aspects of law enforcement, she decided to attend the Law Enforcement Skills Program at Alexandria Technical and Community College in 2011. Upon graduating law enforcement skills training, she worked for several police departments including Traverse County, Wheaton, MN, and Breckenridge, MN, before being offered a full-time position with the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources as a Conservation Officer in 2014. Upon graduating from the Conservation Officer Academy, she was assigned to the Prior Lake station then transferred to the White Bear Lake station, before accepting her most recent position as the Regional Training Officer for the Metro Area.

Kind and generous, Chelsie devoted her life to her profession and those around her. In recent years, Chelsie was drawn to travel, taking planned as well as spontaneous trips to some of the most amazing destinations in the United States and abroad. On days off, she could often be found taking motorcycle trips with her husband, Mark. A lifelong fan of music, Chelsie attended the concerts of many of her favorite artists. A talented singer in her own right, Chelsie was no stranger to a night of karaoke and even sang in many local competitions.

She is survived by her husband, Mark Grundhauser; her parents, Valerie (Darin) Carlson-Seifert and Michael (Amber) Leuthardt; a brother, Zachary (Tonia) Leuthardt; sisters, Brianna Leuthardt, Danielle (John) Sorenson, and Ashley (Dan) Heintish; paternal grandmother, Audrey Weinman; father-in-law, Don Grundhauser; brothers-in-law, Donny (Kelly) Grundhauser and Keith (Megan) Grundhauser; sister-in-law, Pamela Grundhauser; nieces and nephews: Ava, Brecken, Cohen, Tahmor, Raylaynd, Maddisen, Jax, Jacob, Nicholas, and Aubrey; many cousins; numerous friends; and her beloved pets, dogs: Kaiser, Kilo, and Sabo; and cat, Frank.

She was preceded in death by paternal grandfather, Ralph Leuthardt; maternal grandparents, William (Verna) Nilson; mother-in-law, Joanne Grundhauser; and uncles, Elden and Tim Nilson.
