Michael J. Fischer, 68, of Palmyra, MO, formerly of Milbank, SD, died Sunday, May 12, 2019, at Hannibal Regional Hospital in Hannibal, MO. He was a former employee of Cold Spring Granite Company.

A memorial service will be Saturday, May 18, 2019, at 10:00 a.m. at Madison Park Christian Church, Quincy, IL. Chuck Sackett will officiate. Additionally, a memorial service will be Saturday, May 25, 2019, at 10:00 a.m., at Mundwiler Funeral Home in Milbank, SD. Thomas Lombard will officiate this service.

Michael was born April 17, 1951, in Milbank, SD, to Marcus Willard and Dorothy (Schultz) Fischer.

He married Patty D. Hanner on September 4, 1976, in Milbank.

Michael served 28 years in the South Dakota National Guard 740th Transportation Company and worked as a supervisor for the Cold Spring Granite Company.

Michael enjoyed hunting, fishing and in his younger years, riding his motorcycle. One of his favorite pastimes was traveling in his camper with his wife and their two beloved dogs, Itty and Zoey. Joking around and spending as much time as he could with family and friends meant everything to him.

He was a member of Madison Park Christian Church in Quincy, IL. Michael was a lifetime member of the VFW.

Survivors include his wife, Patty; daughters: Wendy Fischer of Ortonville, MN; Crystal Sutter (Jared) of Taylor, MO; brothers: Preston Fischer (Carol) of Milbank, SD; Mark Fischer (Monica) of Waubay, SD; sister, Debra Smith (Michael) of Browns Valley, MN; mother-in-law, Phyllis Hanner of Milbank, SD; sister-in-law and brother-in-law: Annie and Larry Underwood of Milbank, SD; grandchildren: Amy DeWitt (Jack ll), Zachary Cramer, Jordan Sutter, Taylor Sutter, and Chandler Sutter; great-granddaughter, Allison DeWitt; numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, MyKayla Cramer; and great-grandson, Jack DeWitt lll.
