Dennis Kasuske, age 79, of Milbank died on June 3, 2019, at Milbank Area Hospital – Avera Health.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 7, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Milbank. Rev. Timothy Koch will officiate. Visitation will be held on Thursday at Mundwiler Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and continue at the church on Friday, one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at a later date at Milbank City Cemetery.

Casket bearers will be: Justin DeSchepper, Carter Kasuske, Tim Grabow, Bob Thomas, John Hostettler, and Alan Schneck. Honorary bearers will be members of the Christian Motorcycle Association and all his Harley friends.

Dennis Eugene Kasuske was born on March 15, 1940, at the family farm near Twin Brooks, SD. He was the son of Alvin and Maecille (Beskow) Kasuske. Dennis was baptized on April 14, 1940, and confirmed into the Lutheran faith on May 8, 1955.

Dennis attended school in Milbank and graduated with the Class of 1958. He served in the United States Air Force, 28th Bomb Wing, serving in San Antonio, TX, Amarillo, TX, and at Ellsworth Air Force Base in South Dakota. He was a B-52 mechanic. Following his honorable discharge, Dennis returned to South Dakota and farmed until 1984. He was united in marriage with Joyce Noeldner. Together they were blessed with three children: Kari, Kipp, and Corey. He drove truck for Bracht Transportation and Ken’s Transfer. Dennis also owned his rig and hauled fuel to stations in Milbank. Dennis owned and operated Smokey’s Bar in Corona for a few years. Most recently, he drove truck for Schneck Farms. Dennis loved to ride motorcycles (his “scooter”) – he especially enjoyed riding with the Christian Motorcycle Association.

Dennis is survived by his daughter, Kari (Brian) DeSchepper of Jefferson, SD; daughter-in-law, Nancy Kasuske of Madison, SD; five grandchildren: Katie Grove of Allemon, IA; Tara DeSchepper of Allemon, IA; Justin DeSchepper of Jefferson, SD; Carter Kasuske of Madison, SD; and Kyla Kasuske of Madison, SD; sister, Lynae (Jeff) Grabow of South Shore, SD; nephew, Tim (Lacey) Grabow of South Shore, SD; and niece, Starr (Johnny) Cole of South Shore, SD. Dennis was preceded in death by his parents; two sons: Kipp in 1990, and Corey in 2008; and one brother, Monte in 1958.
