Douglas “Doug” Tietjen, age 55, of Corona, SD, died on June 7, 2019, at his home.

A memorial gathering will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 13, 2019, at Mundwiler Funeral Home in Milbank. Private family services will be held at a later date.

Douglas W. Tietjen was born on January 15, 1964, in Milbank, SD, to Elmer and Sylvia (Green) Tietjen.

Doug worked for United Hardware, Dakota Granite, Harms Gravel, and most recently, Dakota Machine Works. He enjoyed fishing, working on small engines, and maintaining his vehicles. In the last several years, Doug enjoyed his trips to ride motorcycles through the Black Hills with his brother, Ron.

The happiest time in Doug’s life was when his son, Dylan, was born in 1994. Being a father was the best part of his life. He enjoyed helping others and would do anything for anyone.

Doug is survived by his son, Dylan Tietjen of Watertown, SD; his significant other and Dylan’s Mom, Sandy Roedocker of Milbank, SD; Dylan’s brother, Matt (Jennifer) Roedocker of Milbank, SD; sisters: Ione Swedlund of Volga, SD; and Arlys (Ed) Kraft of Sun City, AZ; brothers: Dennis (Annie) Tietjen of Remer, MN; and Ron Tietjen of Spearfish, SD; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Doug was preceded in death by his parents: Elmer and Sylvia; sister, Judy Brotzel; brothers: Dan “Duke” Tietjen and Lee Tietjen; and cousin and friend, John Pond.
