Mary Kay Seurer, age 69, a resident of BeeHive Homes in Excelsior, Minnesota, passed away on June 13, 2019, after a hard-fought battle with frontotemporal dementia. Her funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 20, 2019, at 3 p.m. at Mount Olivet Lutheran Church at 7150 Rolling Acres Road in Excelsior, Minnesota.
Mary was born on April 13, 1950, in Dawson, Minnesota. She attended high school in Wahpeton, North Dakota. She and Gerald Seurer were united in marriage in 1969. The couple lived in Milbank from 1974 to 2010.
During her time in Milbank, Mary worked as an office manager and was a member of the American Lutheran Church. She found great joy in travel, music, sporting events, social engagements, playing bridge, and spending time at their lake home on Big Stone Lake. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Her love of family and friends was immeasurable, her smile and laugh were infectious,
Her spirit lives on in the hearts of those who knew her best. She is survived by her husband, Gerald Seurer; three sons, Jason (and his wife, Valerie) Seurer, Jerad (and his wife, Dawn) Seurer, and Justin (and his wife, Michelle) Seurer; eight granddaughters, Shelby Seurer, Haley Seurer, Madison Seurer, Sophie Seurer, Zoey Seurer, Lauren Seurer, Summer Seurer, and Brooklyn Seurer; mother, Joyce (Woolery) Harstad; siblings, Mark Harstad, Joy Landaluce (Luis), Jim Harstad (Julie), and Jill Urdahl (Tony); many other relatives, and a tremendous number of friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Gordon Harstad.
