James Schuler

James Lee Schuler, age 60, formerly of Twin Brooks, SD, passed away on May 17, 2019, at his residence in Apopka, FL. A memorial service for Jim will be held at a later date.

James was born in Milbank, SD, to William and LaVerna (Scharf) Schuler on March 24, 1959. Jim attended grade school and high school in Corona, SD where he graduated with the class of 1977. He continued his education and graduated from Watertown Business University in 1980 with a degree in Management and North Dakota State School of Science with a computer science degree in 1982.

In the late 1980’s, Jim moved to Florida and worked many years in sales. He primarily worked selling construction equipment of all kinds. Jim earned many awards for top sales throughout his career with United Rentals.

On October 20, 1990, he married Laurie Sue Prinzing in Northfield, MN. They were blessed with two children: Dillon and Madison.

Jim loved the beach and his favorite place was Cocoa Beach, FL. He also enjoyed visiting family and friends, especially Tim Reil of Jacksonville, FL and all of his “Corona Buddies”. He was fondly known as “Shoes” by all his friends.

Survivors include his special friend, Terrianne Mazza-Mihok of DeBary, FL; son, Dillon James Schuler of Cannon Falls, MN; daughter, Madison Michelle Schuler of Cannon Falls, MN; father, William “Bill” Schuler of Twin Brooks, SD; siblings: Mark Schuler (Cindy Settje) of Twin Brooks, SD; Lori Schuler of Wilmot, SD; and Julie (Wayne) Jarman of Wilmot, SD; nieces and nephews: Christopher (Connie) Schuler, Ryan Schuler, Zachary Wenck, Devon Wenck, Alysha Wenck (Michael Tol), Samuel Jarman and Sarah Jarman.
Jim was preceded in death by his mother, LaVerna Schuler in 2005.
