Brent Determan, age 61, of Milbank, SD, died on August 30, 2019, at his residence.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 3, at 1:00 p.m. at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Milbank. Rev. Timothy Koch will officiate. Visitation will be held on Monday, September 2, at Mundwiler Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and continue at the church on Tuesday, one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the Milbank City Cemetery.

Brent Howard Determan was born on June 23, 1958, in Sisseton, SD. He was the son of Robert and Barbara (Hess) Determan. Brent grew up in Sisseton and graduated from Sisseton High School with the Class of 1977. He continued his education at Lake Area Vo-Tech in Watertown, studying parts and service management. Following his education, he moved to Milbank and worked for John Deere.

Brent was united in marriage with Holly Hyatt on Sept 22, 1984, at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Milbank. Brent’s career in parts and service managements continued with Valley Farm Equipment and most recently with Sumner Diesel.

Brent loved the outdoors and nature. He enjoyed camping and taking a drive. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He bowled on a league for a time. Most important to Brent was his family, and he especially adored his two grandchildren.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Holly of Milbank, SD; two daughters and sons-in-law: Sarah and Kevin Lout of Aberdeen, SD; Kelsey and Casey Kringen of Brookings, SD; two grandchildren: Clayton and Brooklyn Lout; siblings: Dennis (Nancy) Determan of Beulah, ND; Tim Determan of Aberdeen, SD; and Cindy Summitt of Safford, AZ; his mother-in-law, Teresa Hyatt of Milbank, SD; one brother-in-law, Doug (Julanne) Hyatt of Ft. Thompson, SD; three sisters-in-law: Cindy Hyatt of Milbank, SD; Terri (Mark) Zemlicka of Twin Brooks, SD; and Shelia (Gary) Morton of LaBolt, SD; as well as, many nieces and nephews.

Brent was preceded in death by his parents: Robert and Barbara; two brothers: Bruce and Greg; and his father-in-law, Bert Hyatt.
