Ruth Miller

Ruth Miller, age 76, of Milbank, SD, passed away on September 2, 2019, at St. William’s Care Center in Milbank.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, September 9, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Milbank. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the Mass. Father Gary DeRouchey will celebrate the Mass. Private family inurnment will be in the Graham Family Cemetery.

Ruth Ann (Graham) Miller was born on May 24, 1943, in Milbank, SD, to John and Genevieve (Smithwick) Graham. She attended school in Milbank and graduated from Milbank High School. Ruth worked in the banking business then went on to attend technical college and earned her Licensed Practical Nurse in 1993.

She was a faithful Catholic and attended Mass regularly, helped with church functions, and taught Catechism class for many years. Ruth was very involved with Senior Companions and enjoyed helping everyone she could. She loved to garden, especially her flowers and many varieties of violets. Ruth was a wonderful cook, baker, and liked canning the produce from her garden. She enjoyed fishing and hunting when she got the opportunity. In her spare time, Ruth was an avid reader, and she was great at crocheting. She had a wonderful sense of humor and her children were the apples of her eye. Ruth supported her children and grandchildren in everything they did, and she loved spending as much time as she could with them.

Left to cherish her memory are her children: Kathi Mooney, Pete Otto, Debbie Johnson, Wade (Kati) Miller, and Jodi Endres (Rich Maag); 14 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; siblings: Jean O’Neill, Mary (Red) Sell, Alice Jenkins, Elaine Haggerty, Dorothy (Hank) Harms, and Tom (Kathy) Graham; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers: Bill Graham, Dick Graham, Jim Graham, John Graham, and Mike Graham.
