The Milbank Bulldog boys golf team posted their lowest score of the season despite tough wind conditions at the Lee Park Invitational in Aberdeen on Tuesday, September 3. Milbank carded a 434 team score and finished in 10th place.

“I felt this was our best meet of the year posting a season low 434 team score,” noted Bulldog head coach Mark Keeton. “For starters, the conditions were very tough with high winds. As a team, all golfers stayed away from double-digit scores on their card.”

Aberdeen Central won the meet with a team total of 323. Watertown was the runner-up with a 330. Rounding out the field were Pierre, 352; Roncalli, 358; Sisseton, 372; Huron, 377; Redfield, 399; Mobridge-Pollock, 418; Groton, 420; Central JV, 436; and Roncalli JV, 443.

Logan Meyer led the Bulldogs with a 24th place finish. He shot a 90 for the 18-hole round. “Logan had his best meet in a long time,” added Keeton.

Jake Trevett finished in 32nd place with a 97. Logan Fenhaus finished in 58th place with a 121, and Eric Van Sambeek wrapped up the scores with a 126. “We still need to focus on our short game from 50 yards and in, but the scores are consistently dropping,” said Keeton.

The Bulldogs will be back in action on Thursday, September 12, in Groton.
