MHS junior Jake Trevett was the lone Bulldog to punch his ticket to South Dakota’s State Class A golf tournament. Trevett tied for 15th place with an 18-hole round of 91 at the Region 1A meet in Volga on Monday, September 30. He will make his second straight appearance at State.

“Conditions were tough due to the high winds,” said head coach Mark Keeton. “I am proud of the boys for staying positive and hanging in there all day. Jake was able to bounce back from a couple holes that hurt his card.”

Bulldog scores also included: Eli Fischer, 102; Logan Meyer, 108; Logan Fenhaus, 147; and Eric Van Sambeek, 147.

Milbank ended the day with a 448 team total. Madison was named the Region 1A champion with a 348. Sioux Valley was the runner-up with a 351, and Sisseton took third at 363. Rounding out the pack were Aberdeen Roncalli, 369; Dell Rapids, 383; Groton, 391; Tri-Valley, 410; and Flandreau, 426.

The State Class A golf tournament is slated for Monday and Tuesday, October 7-8, in Vermillion.
