This holiday season, give the gift of life! It’s the most important gift and one you can cross off your list before Thanksgiving. The Red Cross Bloodmobile will be in Milbank on Monday, November 25 at Unity Square from noon until 6 p.m. Calvary Assembly of God in Milbank is the host for the blood drive.

Margaret Skoog, RN, coordinator of the blood drive, says, “Donors need to be 17 years of age or older, healthy, and weigh a minimum of 110 pounds. Most medicines and medical conditions do not affect eligibility. Even cancer survivors are encouraged to donate.” She says all blood types are needed. “If you are unaware of your blood type, don’t let that stop you from donating.”

Make your appointment at www.redcrossblood.org. No computer? No problem. Call Skoog at 605.880.0435 to make an appointment.

Skoog says she realizes everyone is busy and offers these time-saving tips:
Go to www.redcrossblood.org and complete a RapidPass or answer the questions using your phone.
Bring the completed RapidPass to the blood drive.
Appointments take precedence, but walk-ins are always welcome.
The lunch hour is always a busy time. If you prefer not to wait, plan to arrive in the middle of the afternoon or between 5 and 6 p.m.

This Thanksgiving will you count your blessings and find good health at the top of the list? Take a few minutes to stop by the bloodmobile and feel even better. You just saved someone else’s life.
