Dawgs Look to Take A Chomp Out of Opponents

The Milbank Bulldogs hope to take a chomp out of their opponents as they continue the 2019-2020 high school boys basketball season. The Dawgs are under the direction of Logan Diede, who is in his third season as head coach in Milbank. He is assisted by Ryan Scoular and Jade Miller.

Max McCulloch, Evan Erickson, and Noah Steinlicht are the three seniors leading the team. “I look to them for their leadership, great talk, effort, and toughness,” stated Diede. “We look to all of our guys on the squad to take a step forward in being leaders.”

Returning letter winners are juniors Will Cummins and Mason Riley and sophomore Bennett Schwenn. Other players on the varsity roster include: juniors Carter Hartman, and Tanner Mertens; sophomores Karson Weber, Stevie Ash, Kellen Hoeke, and Cade Howard. “We have a bunch of young and hungry guys that want to help us, and I look forward to seeing our progression all year long,” Diede said.

Diede feels the team’s toughest opponents are Lennox and Dell Rapids, and he believes Tiospa Zina and Groton will be the top teams to watch in the region. “We look forward to the challenge with our young group,” he said. “Our primary goal is to be playing our best basketball at the right time.”
