The Milbank Area Lions Swim Team, also known as the Sealions, competed in the Beat the Blizzard meet at Southwest Minnesota State University in Marshall, Minnesota, on Saturday, December 14. Adison Pauli and Avery Schuneman competed in their first-ever year round swim competition.

“They both did an awesome job,” stated head coach Jodi Street. “Both posted personal best times in multiple events and took on a new event in the 100-meter backstroke. I was very happy with their times and seeing how much they have grown on their technique with their starts and turns, which really showed.”

Savanna Osowski and Amaya Street also competed in the meet and posted first and second place finishes in all four of their events. “Their top competition came from each other,” said Coach Street. “Every chance these girls have to compete is another training session for the state championship.”

The Sealions take a break over the holidays, but will be back in action on January 4-5 at the Aberdeen High Point meet.
