Seven Milbank Bulldogs earned a top-four finish at the River City Rumble wrestling tournament in Chamberlain on Saturday, January 25. Leading the way for the Dawgs, was Eli Fischer, who was crowned the champion of the 126-pound weight class. Breyden Christensen was the runner-up at 113 pounds, and Brodie Holtquist was the runner-up at 195 pounds. Barrett Schneck, Leyton Raffety, Dillon Schneck, and Toby Schneck each placed third in their respective weight classes.

“It was a good tournament for us,” stated the Bulldogs’ head coach Jeremy Tostenson. “We had a great day. The guys competed hard.”

Milbank also placed fourth in the team standings with 134.5 points. Mitchell was first with 228.5. Chamberlain was the runner-up with 212, and Huron took third with 158. Rounding out the team totals behind Milbank were: Sioux Falls O’Gorman, 113; Yankton, 77; Belle Fourche, 72.5; Todd County, 39; Douglas, 28, and Cheyenne Eagle Butte, 19.5.

Milbank also hosted Watertown in a single dual at the Milbank Armory on Thursday, January 23. The Bulldogs were defeated 18-61. Jayden Johnson, Brodie Holtquist, and Landon Novy each secured a win.
