Two Milbank gymnasts earned a top-15 finish during the individual competition of the South Dakota State Class A Gymnastics Meet in Aberdeen on February... Yamaura and Fraasch Win Medals at State Gymnastics Meet

Two Milbank gymnasts earned a top-15 finish during the individual competition of the South Dakota State Class A Gymnastics Meet in Aberdeen on February 15. Sophomore Dani Yamaura earned 14th place on the balance beam, and eighth-grader Aubrey Fraasch finished 12th on the uneven parallel bars.

Greta Snaza was the top performer for Milbank in the vault competition. She was one place shy of receiving a medal at 16th place. Laney Forrette tied her personal best vault score of 8.425, which she had just set on team day.

On the bars, Fraasch set a personal best score of 8.20 and placed 12th. According to Coach Fraasch, “Missed connections, balance checks, and falls, along with tough scoring, contributed to a tough day on the beam.” Yamaura performed Milbank’s only no-fall routine and was rewarded with a 14th-place medal. In the floor competition, Yamaura and Maddie Gustafson earned 17th and 19th place, respectively.
