The 2020 It Only Takes a Spark Cancer Walk has been rescheduled to July 24 with a brand new look in fundraising for Grant... Meal and Luminary Event at MHS Parking Lot for It Only Takes A Spark

The 2020 It Only Takes a Spark Cancer Walk has been rescheduled to July 24 with a brand new look in fundraising for Grant County cancer patients. The traditional cancer walk core committee members have created a new format this year including a drive-thru meal and viewing of luminaries.

The schedule for the July 24 event includes:

The drive-thru pork loin sandwich feed begins at 5 p.m. in the MHS parking lot until the piggy is gone. Enjoy a juicy pork loin sandwich, a small bag of chips, a bottle of water, and a monster cookie. Water is donated by Casey’s and the cookies will be donated by St. Williams Care Center. A free will offering will be taken for the meal.

7 – 10 p.m. Open to walkers. Refreshments will be sold.
10 p.m. Lighting of the luminaries
10 p.m. – Midnight – Drive-thru viewing. Walkers will be on the sidewalk.

The luminary event is a way for the community to individually commemorate loved ones lost to cancer. It has historically been a popular event during the cancer walk and the committee seeks to continue the tradition.

Luminaries are $5 and will be sold through July 20. The lights are available from any team or through the mail. Send your order along with the name of the cancer victim you wish to honor to P.O. Box 105 in Milbank.
