The Lady Bulldog tennis team earned second place at a singles-doubles tournament in Madison on Friday and Saturday, August 21-22. “The girls played amazing,” said Abbey Trapp, Milbank’s head coach.
The eight-team singles tournament was held on Friday, August 21, and included teams from Rapid City Christian, Madison, Aberdeen Roncalli, Vermillion, Spearfish, Huron, and Lennox.
Halli Essington, Hattie Muellenbach, Jenna Johnson, and Hope Karels each finished second in their respective brackets. Alexis Ninneman was third and Marian Mischel took seventh place.
During the doubles tournament on Saturday, Essington and Muellenbach placed second. Johnson and Ninneman took third place. Mischel and Karels placed fifth.
Team totals included: Rapid City Christian, 322; Milbank 245.5; Aberdeen Roncalli, 235.5; Huron, 230; Spearfish, 104; Vermillion (singles only), 80; Madison, 77; Lennox, 63.5, and Mitchell JV (doubles only), 36.
