Milbank Tennis Team Splits with Aberdeen

The Lady Bulldogs tennis team traveled to Aberdeen on Tuesday, September 1, to take on Aberdeen Central and Aberdeen Roncalli. 

“It was another fantastic day for tennis,” said Milbank’s head coach Abbey Trapp. “The girls fell short to Central, who is in the other class system, but they dominated Roncalli with an 8-1 victory.” 

Alexis Ninneman was the lone winner for Milbank in the singles competition against Central. The No. 1 Lady Bulldogs duo of Halli Essington and Hattie Muellenbach also brought home a 10-2 doubles victory.

In the Roncalli match, all six singles players earned wins for Milbank. The 
No. 1 and No. 2 doubles teams also were victorious.

Singles

1. Halli Essington fell to Emily Ringgenberg, 10-7; 2. Hattie Muellenbach lost to Megan Thone, 10-6; 3. Jenna Johnson dropped to Carly Comstock, 10-4; 4. Alexis Ninneman won by a 3-3 default against Livia Douglas; 5. Hope Karels fell to Alice Vogel, 10-0; 6. Marion Mischel lost to Jocelyn Orr, 10-1. Exhibition match – Aubrey Fraasch fell to Laney Gonsor, 10-2.

Doubles

1. Essington/Muellenbach won 10-2; 2. Fraasch/Ninneman lost 10-4; 3. Karels/Mischel fell 10-5.

Singles

1. Halli Essington defeated Hallie Haskell, 10-2; 2. Hattie Muellenbach defeated Ali Muller, 10-6; 3. Jenna Johnson defeated Jemini Cantalope, 10-2; 4. Alexis Ninneman defeated, River Haskell, 10-2; 5. Hope Karels defeated Raley Haskell, 10-8; 6. Marion Mischel defeated Katherine Kretchman, 11-9. Exhibition match – Aubrey Fraasch defeated Anna Mitzel, 10-1.

Doubles

1. Essington/Muellenbach won 10-7; 2. Johnson/Ninneman won 10-2; 3. Karels/Mischel lost 3-10.
