Bulldog Cross Country Teams Win Home Meet

The Milbank boys’ and girls’ cross country teams secured victories at the Milbank Invitational on Saturday, September 12, at the Whetstone Creek Golf Course. The girls won the meet with 24 points and the boys took first place at 23.

“We were really pleased with the performances from this meet,” stated the Bulldogs’ head coach, Eric Townsend. “Even though this meet was not as big as it has been in the past years, the quality of the teams was very good.”

Nick and Ashlyn Batchelor each captured individual titles. James Batchelor finished the boys’ varsity race as the runner-up. “James ran his best race of the season thus far. He has really improved from a year ago due to his great summer of training,” Townsend said. Ashlee Van Hoorn won the girls’ junior varsity race for Milbank. Savanna Osowski was hot on her tail in second place.
