Robert John Stropnicky was born on October 12, 1960, in Grand Forks, ND, to Raymond and Theresa (Rolczynski) Stropnicky. He graduated from Graceville High School in 1978.

Shortly after graduation, Bob was injured in a motorcycle accident and suffered a brain injury. He lived at home until his mother passed away in 1980. Bob moved into a group home where he enjoyed giving the staff a “hard time” and playing cards. He loved all kinds of hats (except Ford hats), animals, and especially loved Chevrolet cars.

In Bob’s younger years, he enjoyed demolition derbies with friends, working on cars, hanging out with the Nilson boys, and listening to music. He worked at Carlson’s Corner in Graceville for a while.

Bob is survived by his sisters: Cathy (Ronnie) Coates of Hancock, MN; and Lori (Leland) Nelson of Wheaton, MN; nieces and nephews: Theresa Nelson of Wheaton, MN; Katie (Justin) Forseth of Madison, MN; Kimberly Nelson of Hendricks, MN; Levi (Natasha) Nelson of Wheaton, MN; and Riley Nelson of Dumont, MN; and great-nieces: Chloe Nelson and Kiera Nelson; and great-nephews: Liam Nelson, Larz Nelson, and Colten Forseth.

Preceding him in death were his mother and step-father: Theresa and Loren Webster.

The family wishes to thank all the caregivers at REM House and Functional Industries who made Bob’s life enjoyable and treated him like family.
