St. Lawrence fifth graders graduated from the DARE program on December 18. The class, which was approximately 12 weeks long, was directed by Milbank Police Chief Boyd Van Vooren. It covered drugs, alcohol, peer pressure, bullying and decision making.
According to fifth grade teacher Candee Cloos, the students completed weekly assignments, completed a written test, and wrote a DARE report on what they learned, including a DARE promise. They presented their reports during DARE graduation. The graduates received a certificate and a DARE t-shirt.
