Marlin Enquist, age 73, of Milbank, SD, passed away on January 3, 2021.
A prayer service will be held on Friday, January 8, at 2:00 p.m. at Mundwiler Funeral Home in Milbank. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
While maintaining social distancing guidelines, we are now able to gather for visitations and services. The use of face masks by attendees is requested, and we will continue taking the necessary steps to keep our facility clean.
Marlin LuVerne Enquist was born January 2, 1948 to LuVerne and Hazel Enquist in Milbank, SD. Marlin grew up 2 miles southwest of Strandburg, SD. In his younger years he played many sports. He graduated from Strandburg High School. Marlin married Diana Buckeye November 18, 1978; their son Justin was born on December 14, 1984.
Marlin was a farmer; he was an excellent welder, carpenter, mechanic and could fix just about anything. He served in the South Dakota National Guard. Marlin worked many years at Grant-Deuel and Milbank schools as a custodian and bus driver.
Marlin was an avid Minnesota Vikings fan. In his spare time, he enjoyed tinkering on his boat, fishing and keeping up with agricultural news. He was a dedicated and patient father. Marlin was never in hurry and enjoyed spending lots of time with close friends including Corrine Lorenzen and Sean Lorenzen.
Marlin is survived by: his son, Justin Enquist, of Davenport, Iowa; sister, Collette (Mike) Krakow of Labolt, South Dakota; brother, Jeff (Dee Dee) Enquist, of Stockholm, South Dakota; nieces Kristine and Emelia; nephew, Steven; many cousins and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by parents LuVerne and Hazel Enquist; brother Doug Enquist; his grandparents; several aunts and uncles.
