The MHS basketball team hosted a doubleheader against Waubay-Summit on Tuesday, January 19, in the Milbank Armory. Carter Hartman and Mason Riley teamed up to score 28 points, but the Bulldogs took the loss at 49-58.
Milbank fell behind in the first quarter at 11-14. The Dawgs came back to take the lead at 24-22 at halftime. Milbank remained ahead at 37-36 at the end of the third. The Mustangs then kicked it up a notch and poured in 22 points in the final quarter to take the win at 49-58.

Hartman set the pace for the Bulldogs with 15 points, three rebounds, and three steals.  Riley followed with 13 points, seven boards, and two assists. Bennett Schwenn tallied nine points, three rebounds, four assists, and one steal. Will Cummins added five points, four rebounds, three assists, and a steal. 

Ryker Trevett put in five points, grabbed two rebounds, and was credited with an assist and a steal. Garrett Mertens rounded out the scoring for Milbank with two points and three rebounds. Justus Osborn contributed three rebounds and two assists, and Kellen Hoeke added two boards and an assist.

Milbank connected on 19-of-51 from the field for 37 percent shooting. The Bulldogs recorded 32 rebounds, 10 steals, and 13 assists. They committed 12 turnovers.

Waubay-Summit made 41 percent of their shots, hitting 19-of-46 from the field. The Mustangs grabbed 36 rebounds and had 14 assists and 12 steals. They committed 12 turnovers.
