Milbank Gymnasts Bounce Back to Top Estelline-Hendricks

The Milbank gymnastics team defeated Estelline-Hendricks in a dual competition on Tuesday, January 19, in Hendricks, Minnesota. Milbank ended with a team score of 131.75; Estelline-Hendricks scored 129.70.

“We were once again five strong in the lineup for this meet,” explained the Lady Bulldogs’ head coach, Amber Fraasch. “Due to the circumstances this year, we have yet to have all six varsity gymnasts compete in the same meet.”

Milbank cleaned up their beam routines from the previous meet in Madison and scored their second highest beam event total of the season. “This could be a great event for us if we hit,” said Coach Fraasch. Dani Yamaura scored her third state-qualifying score and punched her ticket to the state meet with a 8.650.  Hannah Brown had a personal best score of 7.90.

The top four Lady Bulldog gymnasts received state-qualifying marks on the floor exercise. Greta Snaza led the team with an 8.950 and is prequalified for state. Madison Mathews earned her second state-qualifying score and a personal best of 8.75. Yamaura and Aubrey Fraasch had prequalified earlier in the season.

Yamaura led the team with an 8.65 on vault. Brown scored a personal best of 8.50. The final event was the uneven parallel bars. “We finished the meet with a clean set,” noted Coach Fraasch. “The nice execution was rewarded with some of our higher bar scores of the season.” Snaza and A. Fraasch led the team with scores of 7.90.
