Milbank Gymnasts Place Seventh at Linda Collignin Meet

The Lady Bulldogs competed against nearly all of the Class A teams in the state at the Linda Collignon varsity gymnastics meet in Madison on Saturday, January 16. The Bulldogs finished seventh in spite of being down two gymnasts due to injuries.

“This is one of our biggest and toughest meets of the season,” said head coach Amber Fraasch. “It was an eye opener for us. We can compete with the top teams in the state if we are all healthy and hit our routines, and that did not happen at this meet…We will continue to work on consistency and execution as we head closer to post season.”

Milbank finished seventh in the 12-team field with a score of 123.675. Madison Mathews led the Lady Bulldogs on the uneven parallel bars with a 7.3750 and a 15th place finish. Aubrey Fraasch placed 17th on the beam with a 7.75. Dani Yamaura and A. Fraasch tied for 14th place on the floor with an 8.80. A. Fraasch and Hannah Brown performed new vaults for the first time in competition. Fraasch tied her personal best score and led the team with her first state-qualifying score of 8.60 and 12th place. Brown also attained a personal best score with a 8.2250. A. Fraasch also placed 11th in the all-around competition with a 32.50.
