Milbank hosted Waubay-Summit on Tuesday, January 19, at the Milbank Armory. The Lady Bulldogs took the loss at 38-69.
The Lady Mustangs got out to a quick 23-10 lead during the opening period, and Milbank remained behind at 22-34 at the midway mark. The Lady Bulldogs struggled in the third period. They produced just five points while their opponent fired in 21. This provided a 27-55 lead for Waubay-Summit heading into the final stanza and they held on for the win.
Maurina Street led the Lady Bulldogs with 18 points, four rebounds, one assist, and one steal. Isabella Anderson added eight points, one rebound, six assists, and three steals. Lindsey Mertens chipped in six points, one board, four steals, and two assists. Tyra and Tatum Berry both contributed three points. Tatum also had two rebounds and an assist. Madi Thue was good for two rebounds, two assists, and two steals. Ellie Neugebauer added a steal.
Milbank made 33 percent of their shots hitting 15-of-46 from the field. The Lady Bulldogs finished with 23 rebounds, 15 steals, and 12 assists. They were charged with 11 turnovers.
Waubay-Summit fired in 48 percent of their shots, dropping in 21-of-44 from the field. They hit 14-for-22 from three point land for 64 percent, which led to the demise of Milbank. The Mustangs completed the game with 33 rebounds, 16 assists, 10 steals, and one blocked shot. They committed 15 turnovers.
