MHS wrestlers and brothers, Toby and Barrett Schneck, each captured a Northeast Conference championship title in Redfield on January 28. Toby, a senior, topped the field at 195 pounds. The 2021 title is his second in his high school career as he was also named the NEC champion in 2019. Barrett earned this year’s championship title at 152 pounds. He also won the title in 2017 as a seventh grader.

Six other Bulldogs earned top four finishes at the conference meet. Brayden Christensen made his way to the championship tilt, but fell short and placed second. Jacob Johnson, Kaden Krause, Leyton Raffety, and Logan Meyer each finished third in their respective weight classes.  Paul Van Dover was fourth.

Milbank finished third in the team standings with 113.5 points. They were just behind Clark-Willow Lake — the runner-up at 116. Redfield was crowned the team champion with 243 points. Other team totals included: Kingsbury County, 93; Groton, 85.5; Sisseton, 73.5; Webster Area, 45; Hamlin, 32; Britton-Hecla, 14; Deuel, 9, and Tiospa Zina, 0.

152 – Barrett Schneck won by fall against Kaden St. Pierre, Hamlin, :37; won by fall against Chase McGillivary, Redfield, 2:51. NEC Champion.
