The Milbank Bulldogs avenged an early season loss to Lennox by downing the Orioles 55-48 at the Dak12-Northeast Conference Clash in Madison on Saturday, January 30. The Bulldogs have posted a four-game winning streak and sit with a 7-6 season record.

“The boys did everything I asked of them and competed together from start to finish,” stated the Bulldogs’ head coach, Logan Diede. “They were excited to play Lennox again, and we made the most of that opportunity and got better in the process. We had a lot of guys step up on both ends of the floor, and our bench was engaged all game long. I couldn’t be more proud of these young men.”

Milbank started out with an 18-13 advantage after the opening quarter. They maintained the lead at 33-30 at the midway mark. The Dawgs continued to extend their lead to 44-35 heading into the final quarter.
Will Cummins and Bennett Schwenn led the Bulldogs with 16 points each. Cummins grabbed nine rebounds and had three assists and three steals. Schwenn snared four rebounds and added three assists and one steal. Mason Riley followed with nine points, four boards, and three steals. Carter Hartman put up seven points and pulled down six rebounds.
Also contributing to the team totals for Milbank were:  Ryker Trevett, four points, two rebounds, and two assists; Stevie Ash, three points and two steals; and Garrett Mertens, two rebounds, one assist, and one steal.

Milbank scored on 48 percent of their shots from the field, knocking down 19-of-40 attempts. The Dawgs grabbed 34 rebounds, had nine assists and 12 steals, and committed 18 turnovers.

Lennox made 17-of-53 attempts from the field for 32 percent shooting. The Orioles recorded 34 rebounds, seven assists, 16 steals, and 16 turnovers.
