All six Milbank Bulldog grapplers are still alive after the first day of the South Dakota State Class A wrestling tournament in Rapid City today, Thursday, February 25.  Toby Schneck and Barrett Schneck led the team with first round wins. 

Toby outlasted Blake Fredericks of Mitchell with a 5-3 decision in the 195-pound weight class. Barrett, at 152 pounds, earned a pin against Tae Ellenbecker of Sioux Falls Lincoln with a time of 3:42. Toby and Barrett now wrestle in the quarterfinals on Friday.

Jacob Johnson, Brayden Christensen, Kaden Krause, and Leyton Raffety continue tournament play in the first round wrestle backs on Friday. Today, Johnson suffered a first round loss by 16-1 technical fall to Michael Roob of Vermillion in a time of 6:00. Christensen fell 1-0 to Peyton Tryon of Harrisburg. Krause was downed by Corter Doney of Rapid City Stevens with a 11-1 major decision. Raffety lost by fall to Ryan Hirschkorn of Harrisburg in a time of 1:47.

State wrestling begins again at 10 a.m. MT tomorrow, Friday, February 26.
