MHS senior Toby Schneck led the Milbank Bulldogs with a fourth-place finish at 195 pounds in the 2021 South Dakota State High School Class A Wrestling Tournament in Rapid City on Saturday, February 27. This marked the second time Toby placed at the state meet. In 2020, he earned fifth place at 182 pounds.

Toby started the third day in the fourth-round wrestle backs. He faced Carter Tuntland of Harrisburg and won by fall in a time of 2:49. He advanced to the third-place match. Toby’s final matchup was with Noah Hutmacher of Chamberlain. He and Hutmacher had split matches during the regular season, and Toby had defeated Hutmacher to claim his region title. At the state tournament, however, Toby was defeated in a 7-0 decision. He captured fourth place in his bracket.

Brayden Christensen and Barrett Schneck also placed for the Bulldogs in the final day of competition. They each finished eighth in their respective weight classes.

Christensen fell to Connor Eimers of Tea Area in the third round of wrestle backs with a score of 6-2 which sent him to the seventh-place match. He then lost by fall to Brock Sparks of Mitchell in a time of 1:25 to take eighth place at 132 pounds.

Also, in the third round of wrestle backs, B. Schneck faced Bailey Badwound of Spearfish and lost by fall in a time of 1:13. That loss sent Barrett to the seventh-place match where he lost by fall to Tucker Vilhauer of Mitchell in a time of 5:11. He brought home eighth place at 152 pounds for the Bulldogs.
