Mundwiler Funeral Home announces the death of M. Marcile Manning, age 90, of Milbank. Marcile passed away on April 5, 2021, at Milbank Area Hospital-Avera Health.
A private family funeral service will be held on Friday, April 9 at Mundwiler Funeral Home in Milbank. The public is invited to attend the graveside service to be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, April 9, at Milbank City Cemetery.
While maintaining social distancing guidelines, we are now able to gather for visitations and services. The use of face masks by attendees is required, and we will continue taking the necessary steps to keep our facility clean.
Melva “Marcile” Ulrich was born on October 21, 1930, in Ortonville, MN, to Fred and Viola (Lloyd) Ulrich. She grew up near LaBolt, SD, and graduated from Milbank High School in 1948. Marcile graduated from South Dakota Beauty Academy in 1949. She was a life-long resident of Madison Township in Grant County, SD.
Marcile married George Manning on November 7, 1952, in LaBolt. They made their home on the Manning family farm, located between Milbank and LaBolt. Marcile and George were blessed with four children: Cindy, Neil, Harley, and Scott.
Marcile was self-employed as a beautician for 52 years. She also sold her floral arrangements, some created with flowers that she grew. She was a member of Big Stone Horticulture Club and enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening.
Marcile is survived by her children: Cindy (Greg) Watt of Milbank, SD; Neil Manning of Sharon, WI; Harley Manning of Sioux Falls, SD; Scott Manning of Clinton, MN; grandchildren: Denice, Amy, Alex; great-grandson, Charlie; many cousins, in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George; and sister, Doris Brown.
