Bulldogs Start Tennis Season at Cantine Courts

The MHS boys’ tennis team began its 2021 season with a loss to Benson, MInnesota on Friday, April 9, at Cantine Courts.  Milbank started out 2-1 in doubles play, but fell 2-4 in singles play to get edged out 4-5 in the match. 

Senior Mason Riley led the Dawgs with two wins at his No. 1 singles and doubles positions. He teamed up with newcomer Leyton Raffety, a junior, to win the doubles match at 10-1. Riley then defeated his No. 1 singles opponent at 10-7.

The No. 3 doubles duo of Isaac Perez and Gregory Grabow downed their opponent 10-1. Joe Schulte secured the other win for the day with a 11-9 victory at No. 3 singles.

Results from the opening meet with Benson:
Singles 1. Mason Riley won 10-72. Benett Street was defeated 10-23. Joe Schulte won 11-94. Leyton Raffety was defeated 10-25. Isaac Perez was defeated 10-3 6. Gregory Grabow was defeated 10-6.
Doubles 1. Riley/Raffety won 10-12. Street/Schulte were defeated 10-7 3. Perez/Grabow won 10-1
