Spring is in the air along with the American flag at the St. Lawrence School spring program on Wednesday, May 12.  This year’s program will feature patriotic songs that honor God, our flag, our history, and our heroes. Two concerts will be held in the school gym — one at 1:30 p.m. and one at 7 p.m.
Sixth graders will share quotes from our country’s founding fathers and present a skit about the history of The Star-Spangled Banner.  Two anthems will be performed on chimes to begin the program: O God Beyond All Praising and My Country ‘Tis of Thee.

Preschoolers and kindergarteners will sing Red, White and Blue Medley, Twinkle, Twinkle Fifty Stars, and Oh, I Love America.  The first and second graders will perform The Star-Spangled Banner, Allegiance Rap, and The Heart of America.  Third and fourth graders will play America and Yankee Doodle on recorders, perform a flag routine to The Stars and Stripes Forever, and sing Fifty Nifty United States.

Sixth graders on ukuleles will accompany This Land is Your Land  and join the fifth graders in singing Don’t Let the Music Stop.  American Tears, a song that describes some of the struggles our country has faced and unites us in honoring those who have sacrificed for our country, will feature fifth-grade soloists. The program will conclude with everyone joining together to sing God Bless America.
