The weather is finally cooperating with the MHS girls golf team and scores are dropping accordingly.  “The girls were able to knock 32 strokes off their team score in less than a week,” stated coach Mark Keeton.

The team traveled to Groton on Monday, May 10, where Marion Mischel tied her personal best score of 88 and brought home a second-place finish. Shaylee Schuchard, in her first year with the team, carded a personal best score of 117. She landed in 14th place. Scores for the other golfers were not available.

Milbank also competed in the Aberdeen Roncalli Invitational on Thursday, May 6. They finished fourth in the team standings with a score of 500. “Lee Park provided its challenges with its tree-lined fairways,” noted Keeton. Despite that, Ella Kasuske played a personal best round of 125 to place 16th. Schuchard shot a 134. Camila Monroy was close behind with a 135. Jaclyn Wiik finished with a 156.

Mobridge won the meet with a 427. Redfield took second at 479, and Roncalli was third at 480. Redfield, JV, Sisseton, and Groton did not field complete teams.
