The Milbank Bulldogs boys’ tennis team is battling it out in the 2021 State Class A Tennis Tournament in Sioux Falls on Monday and Tuesday, May 17-18.
MHS senior Mason Riley checks in at No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles; junior Benett Street at No. 2 singles and No. 2 doubles; freshman Joe Schulte at No. 3 singles and No. 2 doubles; junior Leyton Raffety at No. 4 singles and No. 1 doubles; sophomore Isaac Perez at No. 5 singles and No. 3 doubles; and eighth grader Gregory Grabow at No. 6 singles and No. 3 doubles.
Singles play began at 8 a.m. this morning, Monday, May 17. First round doubles matches began at 1 p.m. Championship semi-finals, third and fourth-place matches, and the championship finals in singles take place on Tuesday, May 18, at McKennan Park starting at 8 a.m. The championship semi-finals, third and fourth-place matches, and championship finals for doubles begin at 12:30 p.m. at McKennan Park.
At Keuhn Park, consolation semi-finals and the fifth-place matches in both singles and doubles start at 8 a.m. on Tuesday. Singles will be played first with doubles slated for 11:30 a.m.
Milbank wrapped up their regular season on Thursday, May 13, with a 0-9 loss to Sioux Falls Christian. SFC is a favorite to win the Class A title.
